Parque Aventuras San Luis, a great place located in a cloud forest ecosystem just 20 kilometers from San Ramon de Alajuela downtown. The cloud forest is magic, most of the year is covered in clouds like a movie. Our ecosystem is particular because we receive rain horizontally, in the form of mist, which is why most of the diversity is found in the top of the trees.
Parque San Luis location is unimaginable and much unknown to science, which is why they are places where scientific study the birds, plants, butterflies and other species.
Among the flora, the most emblematic and outstanding species are the “lautencere” family like aguacatillos and quizarras, does are abundant in the diet of the Quetzal and the bellbird, beautiful and striking birds.
Other species of great importance and abundance are orchids, heliconia and many type of trees, does with a great importance for the flora of Parque Aventura San Luis.
75% of the flora’s place requires and needs birds for pollination and dispersal, so it is easy to see striking flowers and fruits such as the family of Heliconacea-guisnesiaciea plants, these plants are pollinated by hummingbirds as well.
Regarding mammals, we find three species of:
Monkeys
The howler
The white-faced
The monkey spider
Also you will see armadillos, kinkajú or named martucha (Potos flavus) and some felines such as jaguar, caucel and manigordo.
This is because Parque Aventura San Luis is an important part of a biological cloud corridor between the Tilaran and Central Volcanic mountains; which allows a movement of the flora and fauna of the region.
